Introduction
AnimeYuki is looking for qualified and dedicated staff to round out our team. Besides having the first crack at our releases, you also get to learn and improve your skills in still a relatively young fansubbing group. Please check our projects page to see what we have worked on in the past and what our current interests are.
Potential candidates should contact us via e-mail "jadowney [at] gmail [dot] com" (recruiting questions only) or contact us via our IRC recruiting channel, #any-recruit on irc.rizon.net (preferred).

Open Positions
Translators. We're looking for translators to help us tackle new and current anime. Initially, you'll be working in conjunction with other AnY translators but after that trial and training period, you'll be responsible for entire 22-minute episodes. We also need translators to double check the work of others. Oral competency with Japanese is required. Familiarity with written Japanese is a nice to have but not necessary. Training in how to produce scripts will be provided so don't worry about that.
Typesetters. We're looking for medium-skilled typesetters who know the ins and outs of \clip, \move, and other Advanced Substation Alpha (ASS) commands. Dedication to the job and great communication skills is a must.
Timers. Timers are needed to take our scripts and accurately time them to a raw. Some previous timing experience (in a fansub group or personal study) is required. Scene timing experience is required. Turnaround time on scripts must be 24-48 hours. Must be able to produce scripts in SSA/ASS format.
Quality Control. Dedicated, nitpicky people are needed to be the last line of defense against common errors in fansubbing. Beyond having excellent command of the English language, you should be able to spot timing, encoding, and typesetting mistakes as well.
XDCC Bot Providers. XDCC bots to serve our releases on our IRC channel. Minimum speed is 500kb/s. Choice of bot software is up to provider, although we recommend iroffer-lamm. You have total control on what series(es) are placed on the bot. Although you retain 100% control of the bot, we can optionally maintain the releases on the bot if you provide us with FTP and bot access details.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the anime fansub process? The short answer is raw > translating > timing > editing > styling > typesetting > encoding > quality control > distro. More information may be found on ANBU's FAQ. Scroll down to the response for "What are the steps involved in a release?"
Are you recruiting for positions other than those listed above? Maybe. It depends on what you offer. Contact us on IRC to talk about what you can provide.
